The road to Cape Royal (46 mile round trip from Grand Canyon Lodge)
passed through an active forest fire area. In this picture you
can see smoke across the road and burnt trees on either side.
In some spots there were actively blazing logs on both sides
of the road but we could not stop in the fire area so
picture taking was difficult (moving car, closed windows).
This feature is called Angel's Window
Note the railing around the observation area out on top of this rib !

This is the only place on the North Rim from which you
can actually see the Colorado River... WAY down below !
