Grand Canyon: Widforss Trail Tuesday Sept 18
Here's Rosemary at breakfast in the Grand Canyon Lodge.
Note scene outside window.
View from porch of Lodge.
Observation point is about 2 minute walk from here.
Signboard at trail head.
Note how the Lodge is right out on the point
between Roaring Spring Canyon and Transept Canyon.
(Note North is DOWN in this picture).
The Bright Angel Point lookout is about 1/4 mile from Lodge.
(see next post).
Our cabin was right at the Lodge, beside the loop in the road.
Starting out on the Widforss Trail.
From the North Rim, the land slopes away gently to the North
and is forested. This scene could be in Jackson NH.
First lookout point from trail.
I don't think we're in Jackson anymore.
There were several deer feeding and ignoring us.
This one got a little curious about the camera sound.
It's grand.
Extremely grand.
Regeneration after forest fire.
Looking "up-trail"...
"back_trail" in the morning,
and returning in the in the afternoon.
Who built that cairn,
and what were they trying to mark ?
